Environmental Management Systems

With the growing importance being placed on "due diligence", it is incumbent on all organisations to ensure that they are aware of their environmental exposures and that, should it be decided to sell the operation, there is a clear understanding of any site contamination. Additionally, should the organisation intend to purchase another site or operation, it is important to have a clear understanding of the potential for contamination of that site or operation.

An Environmental Management System (EMS) can be as detailed or as simple as required by an individual operation and can be dictated by timeframes. The process becomes important. See the description of ISO 14001 for further details.

Many of the aspects of EMS are also contained in the services offered under the heading MARPOL Implementation.
